Description

We propose three studies to examine and address birth control mis- and disinformation on social media, including a content analysis on birth control on TikTok, an interview study of influencers to explore the motivations and experiences sharing birth control misinformation, and a large-scale experiment to test alternate strategies for addressing audiovisual misinformation.

We are thankful for receiving the Media Forensics Hub Seed Grant by the Knight Foundation, which has initiated projects that both address online misinformation and women’s health, while also providing several opportunities to engage with our students and the broader community.
